ISRO Pauses Rocket Launches to Produce Corona Virus Related Supplies for India
India's Space Agency Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has taken a decision to pause the Upcoming Rocket Launch Schedules due to effect of Corona Virus. As COVID-19 is getting its range and patient counts higher every hour, The very agency has come forward to make supplies related to prevent it's spread. In an Interview by Times of India, Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Mr. S. Somnath announced, "we are producing ventilators and sanitisers and we are distributing them".
Mr. S. Somnath, Director, VSSC, is a rocket technologist and aerospace engineer. He is achiever of contributions in launch vehicle system engineering, structural design and dynamics, pyrotechnics, etc. He has also served as Director of Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC). He has mastered in dynamics control.
COVID-19 spread has gone dramatic all over the world and the governments are taking major steps to prevent it. ISRO has prepared the GSLV Rocket to launch it's Earth Imaging Satellite GISAT-1. The launch has been delayed and the team has focused on making aid supplies.
